    Starship Troopers: Invasion

    www.starshiptroopersinvasion-movie.com

The first movie was one of the best scifi movies ever. The last two were not so good. There's very little info about this one, but I'm very hopeful. Maybe they can capture the magic of the first movie this time.

    What are your thoughts?

i heard about it, and looking forward to it actually. loved the first movie, didn't bother to watch 2 and 3, and i did enjoy the CG Animated Series. hearing that "Invasion" will be a CG movie brought me back to the series and i hope it would be as good, if not better. i'm kinda hoping it would be as good as the Dead Space and Riddick Animated movies, but we'll see.

Maybe they could return to something closer to the original Heinlein novel, where the Mobile Infantry used powered armor. That was too expensive for the original live-action movie, but it might be practical for a CG movie.

they delved into the power armor in the animated series, the most likely will do all the awesome stuff that would've been too expensive in a live action production.

The first movie was great. I read the book when I was a kid, and, apart from the occasional diversion, the movie stayed pretty close to it. Groundbreaking stuff.
I got pretty excited when I heard a sequel was imminent.
'Disappointed' does not even begin to describe how I felt when I saw the garbage that they were trying to sell us on the strength of the original. I didn't bother with the third movie for ages, but eventually relented. Need not have bothered!
As far as the latest one is concerned.... I may watch it if I happen to be tied to a chair with my eyelids held open (A-la 'Clockwork Orange'), but failing that, then they have already poisoned the well and I won't be caught out again.

The first was indeed the SHIT. J. Rico was my child hood hero. I still use some of his quotes to this day.

The second was a B-Rate Porn Flick imo...

The third was an attempt at a recovery of the storyline with an obviously extremely limited budget. But it still wasn't too bad- I liked it.

This invasion looks like it could have aspects of the Video Game series in it which would make it really fuckin sweet. I do hope they pull something out their ass and have like J. Rico's voice in it somewhere.

That seems like an odd attitude. I'm sceptical as well, but before I pass judgement that harsh on the movie (when it's not even finished yet), I'll wait for the reviews and the trailers. I'll still probably watch it, even if the reviews say its bad, 'cause I am a sucker for "bad" movies (Bitch Slap, Sucker Punch, Alien vs. Ninja, the list goes on...).

Bitch slap as well?....that movie was really fun because of the "bad" ness of it....and suckerpunch was awesome... Do not agree with anyone who says contrary....

Luckily I missed the second two starship troopers....so in my mind its still j. Rico story...crosses fingers this one may have some of that same magic..
