About Red Shirt
- Biography:
- Soooo, lemme see.
Even though it is only a Part Time sort of thing, It is a huge part of my life so I'll mention it first.
I am an Army Reservist. I started out by spending 1 1/2 years as Reserve Infantry when there was such a thing. I then transferred to Active Duty for nine years. I then got out, but didn't stop. I have been a Reservist again, passing another ten years last year. This gives me a grand total of over 20 years in Uniform. Three different uniforms in fact. Woodland BDU, DCU and the latest ACU. Word is we are switching over to Multi-Cam sometime soon. Not to mention that The Army is changing the dress uniform to "Blues" as we speak... I've already got mine, I just need to put them together.
I think that I could be accurately described as a Patriot. I bear no affiliation to, nor do I support any particular political party. I am a defender of the Constitution. I took an oath to do so:
"I do solemnly affirm that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God."
This may make me out to sound like a Nationalist Jingo. Hardly, that couldn't be further from the truth.
You want to talk politics?
I am an Independent and I stand for protecting the Constitution and Amendments as written. That pretty much covers Human Rights and Freedom.
As an independent and the was things have gone in modern times, I tend to chose a candidate who seems to be less of a threat to this nation. Frankly, in this country, anyone who is able to get themselves elected as president has no business holding the position. The biggest failing is the focus on non issues. Abortion? Roe v. Wade was settled by the Supreme Court in 1973. Gay marriage? We are talking human rights here people. If you still question it, check the 14th amendment. "They" need to get focused on more pressing matters, actual issues with pressing needs. Immigration Reform; Budget Balancing and Fund Allocation; Education; Employment and so on.
MY biggest concerns are the rampant violation of the First Amendment and it's establishment clause. There's a GOOD reason why we are rapidly falling behind the rest of the world and why this nation is a laughing stock. So, please, stop trying to legislate morality and your beliefs upon others by the manipulation of politics.
Also of grave concern to me is defending the Second, Fourth and Fourteenth Amendments which are also threatened by misguided and fear based legislation. Especially the 2nd Amendment in these days... I have strong opinions about defending those rights but now, even mentioning that can label you as a right wing crazy.

On to some non-military stuff about me.
I like chatting by the fire and long walks on the beach... LOLOLOLOL, umad Bro?
Seriously though, my hobbies are many and varied. It isn't a matter of my interests, it is more a matter of what am I into and doing right NOW. I'll probably update this area as time goes on and as I see fit to include more things that I am into.
My main hobby is writing. Primarily Military/Paramilitary SciFi in the near future. (200-300 years from now.)
I have not yet been published, nor am I ready to be. I do have a bit of work put down, but there is much to do.
I play some FPS's and my favorites are the Half Life series, Left 4 Dead (1&2) and Halo. I don't have an Xbox but I have Halo2 on PC so I wound up with a gamertag. Lolwut? Meh, whatever.
Other than that, given the state of my employ and residency, the pursuit of hobbies is non-existent at the moment.

I have held many occupations over the years, Army, Vendor Rep, Merchandising Rep, Technology Sales Associate, Lawn Care and so on. That old saying, "jack of all trades, master of none," is true for me and I don't mean that as a brag. I know a TINY little bit about A LOT of different things. Trouble is, I don't really know enough to be of good use...
Lately, due to my move, I have reduced the physical content of my life to two duffel bags. All of my other stuff like all my tools, bug out bag, sewing machine and some other stuff has been put "in storage" in Atlanta to facilitate my move from there to Nashua NH. Even before the move, I had been removing a lot of detritus from my life and I have found it reassuring having less physical, well, crap in my life.
A long time in the making, the intent has always been to go back, but recent developments are closing that door on me.
- Location:
- Nashua, NH
- Interests:
- See above. Not enough room here.
- Occupation:
- Currently, Army Reservist is my only "employment."
