Really?????? Not one frickin' second with the Mallers at the Arena??????alfja sdjhaoiruhvaopeuhvouhva;jldshv; !
Ahem.
After my first losing record since chapter 19, I am displeased. And as much as I want to take simple predictions to make up for losing so badly (any character speaks) that would just be lame.
School may be out for summer, but the zombies have got summer school. Lets get this second to last Voodoo Lounge of the season kicked off right!
Chapter 23 TitleI won't even tease you putting this under spoiler tags. Kc wouldn't give me the title this time. Of course, the last time he did this we got "The Mark of the Beast" which was amazing. So I'm waiting with bated breath for the chapter title and Cover Art which apparently are both going to be all sorts of amazing!
Saul is Going to the ArenaRemember, we as listeners know Lizzy is there, no one from the Tower knows that. Now that being said....Um. Yes. Yes he is. It's the only focused place Saul can go. Lizzy could be anywhere in the city, but the only thing that they know has happened in the city that is outside their knowledge is that gigantic explosion. Saul already said he wanted to go there to check it out, and I betcha that's where he's headed. Guarantee of the chapter. 99% that Saul is going to try to go the Arena.
A Tower Member will Try to Intercept SaulHere's the thing: Kalani, in theory, needs all these people with him to help ready this particular bird (so he has said numerous times in the last chapter part). I want to say Burt is going to go after him, but if he views what Saul did as reckless that makes Burt's chasing him even more so. Not to mention, Burt didn't sound like he was about to go off in hot pursuit of Saul at the end of part 3.
I know Burt feels responsible for both Saul and Lizzy, but I think Kalani will be able to reason with him to stay...or he has no choice but to stay (that's a prediction below). Besides, if they can figure out where Saul is going (as I predicted above) he's going to have to drive near the Tower to get there...or else he's going to have to travel about oh say....forever out of the way (around Locked and Loaded) to get to far enough East to avoid the Tower. 70% the Tower will attempt to intercept Saul.
Saul Tampered With/Disabled the Other Vehicles Before He LeftSaul disabled the other vehicles to prevent anyone from stopping him 50 feet into his escape. If you think about it, why would they not go after the sickly man trailing an IV behind him wherever he goes? Right. Exactly. Even if he has a little head start on you, you can go catch him now before he does something stupid! Ignoring the scenario I played out above, Victor and Burt would hop in the hummer or Datu/Kalani's ride and chase him down! *heroic music plays!!!!*
*Music winds down and stops*
Oops....There's a spark plug sitting on the dashboard. Or Opps. The battery is uninstalled and moved somewhere else down the Tarmac.
If he did do this, I don't think he did it maliciously, he just wanted to get away without having to worry about people following him, at least not right away. Something small enough that could easily be fixed but would have given him a five minute head-start and make it impossible to follow him. He needs some distance, and you can hear Burt, Datu and Victor in the background when Pegs is getting her crash course from Kalani on flying. Meaning that for guaranteed that 3 minutes (at least) Saul was unaccounted for and everyone was preoccupied that he could have tampered with any of the other vehicles around. And despite what Ra1th was trying to imply on WND this past Friday, you don't have to run Saul off the road to stop him. You don't even need to hit his car to stop him. You just need to get in front of him and you have multiple options available.
But back to the matter at hand: I'm not sure this wingnut (sorry Saul fans) has the foresight to disable the potential chase vehicles before leaving, but I'm going to say 55% Saul messed with the other vehicles to assure his safe getaway.
The LAX Crew Will Attempt to Get the Medevac ChopperOnce again, Kalani is the only one who knows how to do the assessment of the choppers, so he's going to have to be the one to go with them. If they are going to get chopper 2 (and fly there), they need Pegs. Burt could drive, but he'll probably want to get a bird's eye view looking for Saul, Victor goes with the flow, and Datu will cry until someone makes a choice for him. If anyone isn't going to fly, it's Victor and Datu who might drive back to the Tower. But in general I believe the LAX crew (in part or in total) is 65% going to check out the other helicopter this chapter.
(BTW- All my predictions this episode seem to be so intertwined that I can't even begin to imagine what will happen if I get one of these things wrong).
There Will be an Exploration of the HospitalAs I stated in the discussion thread for 22-3...or at least I think it was there....We have an opportunity to real pose some interesting questions of the series heading into the break. Look at what happened the last few chapters of season 1: We met a behemoth, we realized the zombies were way smarter than we gave them credit for by setting traps, The entire Arena Saga,"It's Paul's" assault on the Tower, and: A Rat. All from the beginning of chapter 9 until the end of chapter 11.
What we've seen following the murder of Pippin is a veritable smorgasbord of possibilities lined up in front of us: Ground Zero, The Arena, The Rat in the Tower, The Hospital, The medevac chopper not to mention all the already unanswered questions about the outbreak and the series in general. We still have approximately 2 hours of show to cover the remaining two chapters (I know that's not a guarantee, just a generalization) and that is plenty of time to not only put people in a bad bad place and let them get out of it, or even stick them there, with the tower divided and under attack in some manner. Do remember one of the places Skittles said to stay away from: Hospitals. Well they have to go to one, and this is too juicy a storyline to pass up....67% that there will be an investigation of the Hospital.
Tanya Discovers A Discrepancy in the JournalsThis is a prediction from 7oddisdead.
And it is an interesting one, 7odd. Though it hasn't been explicitly stated, I've been under the impression that the journals were submitted frequently so information could be culled and compared. And if that's the case, whomever the rat is (since that's the implication of this prediction) would have probably played along in their journal. After all, the very first entry Michael, Angel and Saul took every journal to read through it. That should be a good indicator that their thoughts aren't private.
We know Pippin's murder wouldn't have been written about because Tanya was working on scanning the journals before he was shot. So the only two activities the rat would have to write about and cover would be the theft (maybe. Bill could still be the thief, I just don't think so), and their activities at the party. Of course, two major things happened around both of those events that would make it justifiable to not write about their whereabouts: "It's Paul's" assault on the Tower, and the party/The War. We are getting so close to the end of the season and so many things are possible. I really do like this idea, but I don't know that it will come to pass......man I really like this idea......But I will say it doesn't happen by a narrow margin of 47%.
Skittles Warns the Tower of Something Big ComingThis is a prediction from Veritblehero.
He believes that Skittles is going to come warn the Tower because he sees something big is coming and goes to warn the Tower. I think we might have been assisted by Skittles enough this season and having him come back so close to the last time we saw him might be kinda weird. The power from his character comes from random encounters, and he has made it abundantly clear he wants nothing to do with the structure and community of the Tower so I don't know that he'll go there on his own, not to mention he has no idea where the Tower is. Besides, I think there's a huge back story to be told from Skittles that is vital to Outbreak. 20% Skittles Shows Up At the Tower.
There Will be A Massive Zombie AttackI'm using the same logic that I used to successfully predict the return of the rat. Twice in the last chapter, a character said the words "Doesn't that seem funny to you?" in regards to the lack of zombie presence in the city of L.A. It's something we on the forum have noticed since....well honestly since the forum relaunched in January. We've seen a few stragglers here and there, a few emaciated swimming ones (Not a special class damnit, they are normal ones that were swimming!!!!), a wave that took out Fernando, a few more stragglers during the Colony escape, a very well organized and executed attack against the Mallers, and then a lot of activity as the Mallers attempted to destroy the Arena. Assuming the zombies did live there, and were secluding themselves there (for whatever reason) they no longer have a home. And having two characters call out the lack of zombie presence over the course of 30 minutes of story....that sends up warning bells to me.
The Tower is in serious trouble. But they don't know it just yet. The Mallers actions may have unleashed the fury of the assembled masses and turned them loose with no place to go. I am tossed up at the moment because we are nearing the end of the season so the mighty mighty cliffhanger is coming. I don't know where I think season will end. I've had at least 6 scenarios (all of which are plausible) run through my head. I'm leaning towards this being the cliffhanger of the season...meaning I don't know that it's coming right now. But I'm really not sure, so I'm going to say 49% chance this happens meaning I don't think it will. If there is no zombie attack this chapter, this prediction comes back next time, and it's percentage is going to be much much higher.
So that's it. We're close to the end of the season.....and that means this is getting harder and harder to predict. There are so many good ways to leave the season cliffhanger, I don't know which path Kc is going to take. It may be easier to figure out after this chapter...but I doubt it. Talk to you all again (probably miserably) after chapter 23!!
