These two titles (Plague of the Dead/ Thunder and Ashes) are part of a trilogy by my good friend Z.A. Recht

The sad thing is, you see that I said a trilogy and only two books are mentioned.

He sadly died back in '09 of causes being held private by the family- so thus- you have an ultimate cliffhanger until another author picks up the rights to the 3rd book.

But anyways- a quick rundown of the series: Its so good, I really don't want to ruin it.

Check 'em out- they are epic zombie novels.

The Morningstar strain series is excellent, Z.A. passed away a few months after I discovered his series (I was about to finish Thunder and Ashes when I got word), but I read in a Permuted Press forum thas his family found a well advanced manuscript of the third book and they agreed with Permuted to finish and publish it. The third book (Survivors), is on pre-order and scheduled to release in dec-2011.

Curiously what caugth my attention in the book is the Morningstar Strain itself, the way the virus affects ist victims is pretty imaginative. The story is not cheesy nor gory, its a good read and an excellent example of the genre.

That's awesome news man!!!
I am actually truly happy to hear that- I thought I was going to have to imagine the "Survivors" book (tho I do have my ideas)

And yes- I too thought it was pretty unique and compelling. The Morningstar Strain is indeed a mother fu&ker.

Tell us the thruth, you just like the book 'cause badass good guy, agent Mason, is former USMC...
(Like good old "Gunny" Scott, MIA)

No- surprisingly- I am not a huge fan of Mason- I see more NSA in his character than USMC

I like the constant action sequences that keep the boat rockin'- it overall has me hooked.
